Rookie Rankings: Week 6
Each week NBAtoday.net compiles a list of the top 10 rookies in the NBA. Leave a comment on your top rookies of the 2009-2010 season!
Added to the rankings: Wesley Matthews, Jonas Jerebko
Dropped from the rankings: Terrence Williams
1. Tyreke Evans – Don’t hate, Tyreke Evans may score less than Jennings but has been so consistant and has his team winning games in a tougher league.
2. Brandon Jennings – Since that 55 point game Jennings has struggled shooting the rock and his ppg have drop from 25+ to 21+.
3. Stephen Curry – Quietly becoming a true point guard after being a 30 ppg SG in college.
4. Darren Collison – With Chris Paul back his minutes will diminish but he showed he adds tons of depth at the PG position for NOH.
5. James Harden – I’m still waiting for him to start over Thabo; he was probably the most NBA ready player in the draft.
6. Taj Gibson – Gibson leads all rookies in rebounds per game at 5.8.
7. Ty Lawson – The man who couldn’t shoot is shooting the rock over 50% thus far.
8. Jonny Flynn – Flynn has a bright future ahead of him and has the toughness of an AI type player.
9. Wesley Matthews – Had 3 consecutive double digit scoring outings and committed just 3 turnovers in over 30 mpg.
10. Jonas Jerebko – The big Swede is averaging 7-5 but no one cares because he is a Piston.
On the cusp: Terrence Williams
-The Basher

Gutsy move on taking Jennings out of the number 1 spot, but I like how you justified it, so I agree.
Jonas Jerebko shouldn’t make the list for this reason: http://www.nbatoday.net/2009/11/welcome-to-phoenix/
Haha that was last month, I decided to give him some props this month.
In all seriousness though, where is DeMar DeRozan on this list. In his last 4, he has averaged 16 ppg & 4 rpg which contribute to the Raptors 3 game winning streak.
It’s a season long power ranking. Basically like “race to MVP” and DeRozen hasn’t been good all season long so that’s why he isn’t on there now. Spots 8-10 are usually week on the list so if he puts up another good week he may slide in there.
