Cavs 106, Hawks 101

Going into this game, LeBron James was 0-3 when playing on his his birthday.  Today, he celebrated it in style.  James had 48 points, 10 rebounds, 6 assists, 2 steals, and 2 blocks on the night he turned twenty-five.  The Cavaliers were down by as many as 9 points in the third quarter but fought back in the fourth outscoring the Hawks 29 to 16 to pull away with a five point win and a sweep of the home and home series.  With the score tied at 101 and the shot clock winding down, Anderson Varejao hit a three pointer with 17 seconds left in the game to put the Cavs up for good.  Mike Bibby attempted a three to tie the game but he could not get it to fall.  Unlike last night, Joe Johnson made sure he did all he could do to win this game.  He finished with 35 points and Mike Bibby had 20 points in the losing effort.

Magic 117, Bucks 92

The Bucks continued to struggle as they visited the Magic.  Vince Carter was efficient scoring 25 points on 10 of 16 shooting.  Dwight Howard also could not be stopped scoring 17 points and grabbing 10 rebounds as the Magic shot 55% from the field for the game.  Jason Williams scored 16 points while going 5-5 from three point range.

Rookie Brandon Jennings had 20 points on 7-19 shooting and dished out 4 assists.  Andrew Bogut had 15 points and 10 rebounds and Luke Ridnour had 16 points (7-10 from the field) off the bench in the Bucks loss.  Michael Redd struggled finishing with six points on three of twelve from the field.  I am pulling for the Bucks and I hope they break out of this slump soon.

Grizzlies 121, Pacers 110

The Grizzlies climbed back to one-game under .500 as they beat the Pacers 121 to 110.  Zach Randolph continued his All-Star play by scoring 28 points and cleaning the glass with 13 rebounds (5 offensive rebounds).  Rudy Gay and Marc Gasol also played phenomenal.  Gay had 31 points and 9 rebounds and Gasol finished with 21 points and 10 rebounds.  Luther Head (yes Luther Head!) led the Pacers with 30 points and 7 rebounds.  Rookie Roy Hibbert also put in work with 25 points and 13 rebounds off the bench.

Raptors 107, Bobcats 103

The Bobcats road woes continued as the Raptors hopped on the backs of Chris Bosh and Andrea Bargnani to earn a hard fought 107 to 103 victory.  The Bobcats 21 turnovers led to thirty Raptors points as the Bobcats fell to 1-14 on the road.  Bosh and Bargnani combined for 61 points including hitting all 15 of their free throws.  Marco Bellinelli finished with 13 points.   Bargnani hit a dagger three to put the Raptors up 105-101 with 11 seconds left in the ball game.  Stephen Jackson led the Bobcats with 30 points.  Gerald Wallace dominated the boards grabbing 16 rebounds (5 offensive) while scoring 15 points.  Raymond Felton had a solid shooting night (10-12 from the field) scoring 23 points.

Nets 104, Knicks 95

Shooter and I were at this game tonight at the IZOD Center.  Yi Jianlian and Brook Lopez led the Nets scoring a combined 43 points.  We will be doing a more in-depth recap a little later with pictures taken from our amazing seats.  Stay tuned.
