Fantasy Update: 12/17

If you’re team is ravished by injuries like mine (I miss you Kevin Martin and Lou “I’m Ill” Williams!), this addition of Fantasy Update is for you!  I will spotlight one guard, forward, and center you should think about picking up or trading for.

Photo Courtesy of Yahoo.comC.J Watson – Since November 30th, Watson has played more than 30 minutes a game for the Golden State Warriors.  During that time he has scored double figures in nine out of those ten games.  If you need a guard to help you out in several categories this guy is for you.  Here is his stats for December:  12.6 ppg, 4.1 rpg, 2.7 apg, 2.0 spg, and about 1 three-pointer made.

Photo Courtesy of Yahoo.comCarl Landry - I honestly thought about picking him up a few weeks ago and am seriously kicking myself for not doing so.  It seems like every month Landry steps up his game a little more, and December has been no different.  In eight games so far, he has hit the 20 point mark four times, not to mention scoring double figures in all eight.  The most unbelievable part is that he does so while playing less than thirty minutes a game.  In December, Landry has been averaging 18.1 ppg on 61.5% from the field and 6.5 rpg.  Pick him up before it is too late!

Photo Courtesy of Yahoo.comBrendan Haywood – Surprisingly Haywood is owned in only 75% of yahoo fantasy leagues, which means if he is available get him immediately.  Haywood is having a career year scoring 10.2 ppg, on 51.5% shooting, pulling down 10.9 ppg, and blocking 2.3 shots a game.  In his first seven games in December he has averaged 11.3 rebounds and 10.1 points per game.  They may not seem like anything special, but to go with his double-double average this month, Haywood is averaging 3.4 blocks per game.
