Thunder 98, Bobcats 91

In the match up up the two -cat teams (Thundercats/Bobcats) the Thundercats reined supreme.  Kevin Durant scored 30 points on the night making it the 3rd consecutive game in which Durant scored 30 points or more.  With the win the Thunder are now back to one game over .500 with their next game coming on Monday in NJ.  The NBA’s leading rebounder, Gerald Wallace, had an off night rebound (6) and shooting as well (13 points 3-9).  The Bobcats were outrebounded by 12 on the night.

Clown of the game:  Stephen Jackson.  Yes, Jackson did score 24 points but he took 26 freakin’ shots!  Jackson was 9-26 for the game which certainly will not help the Bobcats win on the road (where they have 1 win).

Spurs 112, Bucks 97

This game was never really a game.  The Spurs dominated from the beginning and the Spurs were no match for the Bucks in Milwaukee.  Brandon Jennings has really hit a wall lately; it’s not that he shot bad (3-8) he just has been scoring a lot less.  This now makes 7 straight games of Jennings scoring less than 20 ppg.  DeJaun Blair made just his 5th start of his career for the Spurs and he dominated the offensive glass with 6 boards.  Timmy led the way for the Spurs with 26 points and 8 rebounds.

Clown of the game:  Michael Redd.  Redd was 2-9 from the field with 6 points and -15 while he was on the floor.  All these injuries have really taken a toll on Redd’s career.  He is definitely on the decline.

Jazz 97, Sixers 76

Deron Williams play the role of leader in Utah tonight as he led the Jazz with 27 point, 8 assists and 5 rebounds.  Carlos Boozer had a double-double on the night with 19 points and 11 rebounds.  When these two guys play well together, the Jazz win.  Thaddeus Young was the only Sixer who shot well and he scored 20 points but at 6’9″ he only managed 2 rebounds…what a joke.

Clown of the game:  The entire Sixers team.  They shot 33% for the game, the reason for the loss is self explanatory.

Lakers 112, Kings 103 (2OT)

The Lakers avoided a second straight loss on Saturday by defeating the Kings but it took the Lakers not 1 but 2 overtimes.  Lamar Odom started in place of Ron Artest and he played like the Odom of old.  Despite his 6 turnovers Odom managed 13 points and 15 rebounds.  Kobe Bryant rebounded nicely from yesterday’s abysmal performance with a 16-30 shooting night and 38 points.

Clown of the game:  King’s Power Forwards.  Between Thompson, Hawes, Brockman and Casspi they combined for 13-41.  They weren’t absolute clowns but with better play the Kings may have won this in regulation.

Warriors 132, Suns 127

I didn’t watch this game but a game between these 2 teams must have been one of the most exciting run ‘n’ gun match-ups of the year.  Who doesn’t love an offensive outburst where no defense is played?  I know I do.  Monta Ellis nearly puts up a “double-double” nightly and I use quotes because it’s usually with turnovers.  Tonight, Ellis had 33 points, 10 assists and 7 turnovers.  Maggette also scored 33 for the Warriors while Steve Nash led all scorers with 36.  When Steve Nash is scoring 25+ points the Suns usually don’t win.  They need him to strictly distribute the ball which he did 9 times tonight but had 4 turnovers as well.  The Suns bench outscored the Warriors bench 41-22 but still managed to lose.

Clown of the game:  Both teams. Due to a lack of defense, both these teams are clowns!
