Fantasy Update: 12/30
Normally in my Fantasy Update posts I have tried to give you, the reader, players who you can pick up before they start to break out. Some have worked out (Brendan Haywood and Brandon Jennings) and some have not (cue up Steve Blake). Last night was probably the greatest fantasy night I have seen all year. I’m going to highlight last night’s five best performers in the fantasy world. The amazing thing is this list does not even include LeBron James’ and Russell Westbrook’s near triple-doubles.
Chris Paul – Paul and David West (I’ll get to him in a minute) did everything in their power to beat the Rockets. Paul notched his eleventh career triple-double, scoring 16 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, 2 steals, and added 2 blocks. He constantly found David West open and if any of his other teammates could make a shot last night, he could have had 20 assists.
Kobe Bryant – The Black Mamba did it again last night. This month alone he has reached the 30 plus mark 8 times. Against the Warriors yesterday he put his team on his back, putting up 44 points and dishing out 11 assists. He attacked the rim at the end of the game getting to the foul line and made sure the Lakers would come out victorious.
Kevin Durant – Coming off his 40 point effort against the Nets, KD was not satisfied. He scored 35 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to make sure that the Thunder won both games in their back-to-back away road trip. As he continues to attack the rim, opposing teams are starting to find out he is almost impossible to stop. Not to mention if you foul him he is an excellent free throw shooter.
David West - Another big time performer in the Hornets loss. West shot 18-30 and finished with 44 points. He also had 12 rebounds and 4 assists. Again its hard to think that if Chris Paul puts up a triple-double and West gives you over 40, how in the world do you let the Rockets beat you?
David Lee – I know critics say that he is not a true center, but is there a big man out there playing better than Lee is lately. Last night he continued his tear putting up 30 on the Pistons while grabbing 12 rebounds, and having 5 assists. Lee is having his best season as a Knick, averaging 18 points and 10 rebounds, and I feel that he deserves a chance to be an All-Star.
Thats all for now, if you have any fantasy question send me a tweet at @nbatoday_JB. Thanks for reading and good luck with your fantasy season in 2010!!

LeBron must have read this because he topped all five of these guys with his 48 point performance tonight
