Toronto 109, Washington 107 (OT)

God, Chris Bosh is so nasty. Ask the Wizards (7-11) if you don’t believe me.

The man went off for 31 and 16, including 9 offensive, to lead the Raptors (8-13) over Washington in the nation’s capital. Bosh simply could not be stopped in the paint where the Raptors outscored the opposition 38-18. The Raptors needed this victory if they consider to stay in the playoff talk, what the hell I am talking about, it’s the East. It was a big victory nonetheless as every starter for Toronto scored at least 15 points. Hedo Turkoglu was his usual self down the stretch: clutch. He dropped 6 out of his 20 points in Extra Fun.

Gilbert Arenas scored 34 tonight, including the game tying 17-footer with 13 seconds left in regulation, to lead all scorers. It wasn’t enough as the rest of the big three struggled as Antawn Jamison and Caron Butler combined for 29. Interesting tidbit: Washington is 3-7 when Gilbert Arenas leads the scoring and 4-0 when Antawn Jamison leads the Wiz. Arenas, I know your a numbers guy, so if you want to win, listen to the Ref. The man is trying to help you out. Blog about that Agent Zero.

Fantasy Stat of the Game:
Brendan Haywood may have went 1-7 from the floor, but grabbed 16 boards and rejected 5. Nice

New York 114, Atlanta 107

Let’s get this straight:

The Knicks shot 58% from the floor, Chris Duhon played well, Josh Smith was ejected and the Hawks lost at home.

I am sorry, I don’t believe that. Not any of it… but I’ve seen crazier things happen.Photo Courtesy of ESPN

Al Harrington, in his return to the starting lineup, scored 27 points to lead the Knicks (5-15) over Joe Johnson’s 29 point performance and the Hawks (13-6). Two of these gentlemen may have led their respected teams in scoring, but the player of the night was Mr. Duhon. The Duke alumni scored 25 points along with dishing out 10 assists for his first double double of the year. Duhon has been struggling from the floor all year and needed a game like this to try and get on a roll. He was the difference tonight.

Marvin Williams added 20 points in the losing effort. The Hawks drop to 8-2 at home.

Fantasy Stat of the Game: David Lee scored 18 points on 7-9 shooting and went 4-5 from the line along with ripping 17 rebounds and 3 steals.

New Orleans 98, Minnesota 89

Chris Paul, if there was any way I could give you a standing ovation through a laptop, I would do it. Welcome back buddy.

Paul led the way for the Hornets(8-11) tonight with 16 points, 15 assists, and a career high 8 steals against a struggling T-Wolves (2-17) team in New Orleans. The Hornet’s point guard returns from a two week layoff with an ankle injury and helps a team that misses their leader. He was spreading out the love (did I mention his 15 assissists) tonight as 4 starters scored at least 16. Man I love watching him play. So tenacious. So gritty. It’s so good to see him back.

Well, Minnesota didn’t approve, but what can you do. Al Jefferson supplied his best play of the year thus far with 20 points and 14 rebounds. Hopefully, Jefferson can start playing like the center I know he can. Jonny Flynn continues to struggle as he his hitting the rookie wall hard. He scored only 6 points tonight.

Fantasy Stat of the Game: Kevin Love in his first game of the year: 11 points and 11 rebounds… Impressive.

Cleveland 101, Chicago 87

When Taj Gibson is your leading scorer, chalk it up as a loss.

Gibson led the Bulls (7-10) with 14 points which obviously was not enough to beat the Cleveland
(14-5) Lebron’s tonight in Quicken Loans Arena. It appeared no one showed up for Chicago as Cleveland dominated the game from tip off. Lebron James did his usual (23 pts. 11 asts. 6 rebs). and only 1 turnover) to lead the Cavs rout. Mo Williams came off the bench with 15 points as Mike Brown made an interesting move as he started both Zydrunas Ilgauskas and Shaquile O’Neal. I am not going to second guess him right now, but let’s see how that transpires in the near future.

Stat of the Game: Cleveland went 54% from the line but still made more free throws than the Bulls (17-16)

Detroit 105, Milwaukee 96

Hey Brandon Jennings, maybe you shouldn’t shot so many threes.

The Rookie Phenom could not gather he was off today from the great beyond as he chucked up 10 3′s and only converting on three of them en route to 15 points to lead Milwaukee’s (9-9) starters. He should have learned from the opposition as Detroit (7-12) spread the wealth nicely with 6 players scoring in double figures, led by Rodney Stuckey’s 19. Charlie Villanueva contributed 9 points in his return.

Fantasy Stat of the Game: Pick up Alert- Luke Ridnour’s last five games: 15 ppg, 6 apg, 1 spg, 54-100-47 from the floor.
