Each week NBAtoday.net compiles a list of the top 10 rookies in the NBA. Leave a comment on your top rookies of the 2009-2010 season!

Added to the rankings: Taj Gibson
Dropped from the rankings: Chase Budinger

Rookie Rankings1. Brandon Jennings – Jennings and the Bucks slipped up a little last week, but Jennings still makes it look like he’s been in the league 10 years.
2. Tyreke Evans – I was so close to pumping Evans up to #1; the Kings went 3-1 last week largely due to Evans play and his ability to get to the hoop.
3. Stephen Curry – Curry has hit big shot after big shot this year.  He plays the game unphased and it’s ashame his team doesn’t win or play defense.
4. Darren Collison – Collison is dishing out assists like its his job, oh wait, it is!  6, 8 and 6 assists his last 3 games, respectively, and 8 turnovers in the span.
5. James Harden – Averaged 10 ppg in a 2-1 week.  With Kevin Ollie out with surgery Harden will see a lot of time at the 1 and 2.
6. Ty Lawson – Lawson’s minutes are diminishing as well as his early season sharp shooting.
7. Terrence Williams – I think the Nets being 0-17 has started to take a toll on their players; it’s showing with Terrence Williams.
8. Taj Gibson – Consistant is a perfect word to describe Taj Gibson on the season.  Averaging 7 points, 5 boards and he puts out the numbers just about every night.
9. Jonny Flynn – Flynn averages about 15 shots a game as a rookie for a 2-win team.  He needs to concern himself with dishing the rock more.
10. Marcus Thorton – Thorton has definitely cooled off since his hot week and is 5-20 in his last 2 games.

On the cusp: Eric Maynor, Wesley Matthews

I would put Harden at #3 just for the fact that he is helping his team win games with his performances, while Curry’s team isn’t winning, and he is getting inconsistent minutes.

I agree doctor and I would have put Tyreke over Brandon. Evans is going for 19-5-5 a game. That’s haaaaaaNASTY. On the other side, Jennings averaged 16 a game while shooting 30% from the floor this past week. I know you almost did it Basher, but I think you should have given Evans his due.

I didn’t do it only because overall Jennings is having a better season shooting the ball and scoring the ball and he is helping his team with an above .500 record for much of the year something the Bucks haven’t seen in awhile haha. If this week plays out like last week it’s shifting over to Evans as #1.
