Remember Me? Marbury Kicked Out of Seat at Knicks Game

Saturday night’s home opener for the Knicks at Madison Square Garden went from laugher to thriller as the Knicks came back from a 17-point deficit to force OT (although, eventually lost). Who was there for the start of the game, but did not stay for the whole thing – former Knicks G Stephon Marbury.

According to a story on espn.com, Marbury was not only at the game, but he did almost everything he could to distract attention from the game onto himself. Oh yeah, and this was all in the first quarter.

It’s almost a surreal situation. A multi-millionaire and former NBA player (currently ‘purposefully’ unemployed) was sitting in the front row, but after ushers examined his ticket, it was determined that he was sitting in the wrong spot! He was sitting in Row AA but holding a ticket for Row A, confusing yet pretty clear. So he didn’t even have a ticket for the front row as he said he would! Even more hilarious is the fact that ushers checked out his ticket! If only I had enough money to sit down there and hear that conversation.

So not only was Marbury in the wrong seat, but he even pulled out a video camera and shot live game action early on. Then he even stood up while filming, which blocked the view of fans behind him. Now the whole checking the ticket thing is starting to make sense… This got me to think, isn’t it against NBA rules to video tape at a game?! Actually, I know it is. And why would Marbury want to video tape the Knicks? Maybe he’s doing some early scouting for his next team – if there’s still takers out there after his ‘sitting out’ season of 2009-2010. Not that you need to do much scouting for a team like the NYK.

After all of this, including the realization that Marbury was in the wrong seat, led to Marbury getting up and leaving, instead of moving to his real seat. So to be clear, he was kicked out of his seat but not the game. Then, instead of moving to his actual seat, he just decides to leave – in the first quarter. What hrbl waste of time and a hrbl use of life.

Marbury is one of those players who is way too easy to hate and the only thing that keeps people from hating him more is the fact that he never wins. Knicks fans, and New York fans in general, enjoy keeping players that helped or harmed them in their memory forever. Although, Marbury is making it way to easy for Knicks fans to remember him by doing things like this.

BANG BANG!
