Open Letter to Allen Iverson:
Allen Iverson has career averages of 27.1 ppg, 6.2 apg, and 2.2 spg over the course of 16 seasons (including this year). After being on his third team in as many seasons, Iverson made his Grizzlies’ debut last night coming off the bench with 11 points in 18 minutes on 5 of 9 shooting. Afterwards, A.I. complained about coming off of the bench. Below is my letter to Allen.

Dear Allen,
I’ve been a Sixers fan for some time. With that being said, I obviously look to you as one of the greatest NBA players of all time. Pound-for-pound, you have to be one of the toughest, and seeing you leave my team was very hard.
You’ve had you’re moments, from the famous “We Talkin ‘Bout Practice?!” interview, to (one of the top 5 sports fan moments of my life) stepping over a floored Tyronn Lue in game 1 of the 2000-2001 NBA Finals. You’ve set trends for NBA players, including a lifetime sneaker contract, cornrows, and tattoos.
With that being said, what were you thinking when you signed with the Grizzlies? Did you, nor your agent look at their roster? Now obviously no one would have predicted you to start the season hurt, but did you actually believe you would not come off the bench?
Listen Allen, I agree that you are a starter in this league, and a lot of people may not agree with us, but no sane coach is going to bring O.J. Mayo, Michael Conley, or Rudy Gay off the bench. All three of those guys are young, and exploding with potential. That being said, instead of complaining, why not play your hardest coming off the bench and swallow your pride? Who knows? You might get lucky and get traded to a team where you could start.
