Looking Through the Hour Glass
The Cleveland Cavaliers are 3-3 including losing 2 at home, already tying the accumulation of home losses from all of last season. The schedule has been tough, and they are trying to fit Shaq into the half court set, but what is wrong? Why can’t LeBron James find another outfit to help him out? Where is Mo Williams? Did anybody tell him that the season begun? Will everyone find out that trading for Shaq was a terrible move?
A lot of these questions will soon be answered, but to what degree. Could The King be distracted by all of the hype for the 2010 agency? A lot of questions but no answers, and I know it is early. There is a long
way to go, but LeBron doesn’t look happy, Mo Williams shooting woes continue (Did anybody see that shot at the end of the Bulls game last night?), and Mike Brown’s coaching abilities are starting to become a concern. For example, why was Shaq in for the last play of the game? It wasn’t like he was already in. No, Brown decided to put him in. For what? To let the Bulls know they aren’t passing to him. Yes, we know that LeBron was going to get the ball, but there were 4.3 seconds left, plenty of time to pass to someone else and set up for LeBron. If Shaq gets the ball, the Bulls are going to immediately foul him, and now, the state of Ohio is laying their faith with a career 50% free throw shooter to win or tie the game. That’s like saying, “Yes I want to take the 50 to 1 horse over the 2 to 1.” Great job Coach Brown, a well thought out strategy.
The disappointing aspect of this point, it may be one of many. Why isn’t Mo Williams creating for himself like he did for most of the season last year? He is becoming a set shooter. Hello Cleveland, you tried that already. Don’t you remember Wally Szczerbiak, Damon Jones, and Larry Hughes? It didn’t work. Let Mo do his thing. I think the King will be okay if he touches the ball a little less if someone else is providing much needed offense.
All I know is the Cavs have to figure out something, or maybe I’m overreacting because in two weeks time, they could go on a 6 game tear, and I am was just blowing smoke up your but. I don’t know, except this, they better beat the Knicks tonight. That’s for sure.
