Kings Still Sucking, Roy Drops 42 in Loss to Rockets
The Kings (0-3) continue to struggle this season after losing to the Spurs (2-1) in San Antonio. The Kings have roughly 28 power forwards on their team, but unfortunately for them they can only play 3-4 a game. Their interior defense is just pathetic and they allowed the Spurs to shoot 58.1% overall and 50% from 3 point land (8-16). The Spurs were led by Tony Parker who had 24 points and 7 assists. Richard Jefferson had his breakout game for the Spurs scoring 21 points.
Clown of the game: Andres Nocioni. Not only does he not start on the worst team in the NBA (Kings) but he only gets 12 minutes of PT and went 1-7 from the field, including 0-4 from 3.
Bucks 96, Pistons 85
A night after Brandon Jennings almost had a triple-double in his first career game, he followed it up with a 24 point outting to lead the Bucks in scoring and to their first win of the season. Michael Redd scored just 9 points and has taken a backseat in Milwaukee to make room for Jennings. With his style of play the Bucks look like they can win 38 games or so, if Redd can stay healthy. Ben Gordon scored 26 points, but just like in Chicago, when Gordon starts his team just doesn’t win (mainly because he doesn’t shoot well when he starts). I know the Pistons don’t want to spend all the money they did on a bench player but let’s be serious, just bring Gordon off the bench.
Clown of the game: Kurt Thomas. Yes, Kurt Thomas is STILL in the NBA, and he STARTS! Fortunately for the Bucks he started and played less than 5 minutes. Seriously, what’s the point?
Rockets 111, Blazers 107
Despite Brandon Roy’s 42 points, the Rockets won the game. The Blazers struggled greatly last year on the road and are 0-2 thus far on this young season. The Blazers out-shot and out-rebounded the Rockets, and they took and made more free throws as well. What helped out the Rockets was going 12-24 from 3 including 5-8 from Ariza and 4-6 from Brooks, unbelievable. The Rockets are now 2-1 on this young season with one of the least experience lineups in the NBA (maybe THE most inexperienced).
Clown of the game: Travis Outlaw. He received the least amount of playing time coming off the bench and deserved it. He went just 1-8 with 4 points.
