Grizzlies Sign Jamaal Tinsley

Photo Courtesy of Realgm.comWith AI out indefinitely the Grizzlies were in need of some PG help to back up the young Mike Conley Jr.  They found their help in Jamaal Tinsley, who may I add hasn’t played in the NBA since the 2007-2008 season, to a one-year deal.

Tinsley has always had problems on an off the court and always seems to get hurt or find himself suspended from the league.  He has decent career averages of 10.4 ppg, 7 apg and 1.7 spg.  If he can stay healthy and get himself in shape he may find himself starting by New Year’s.  What does this signing mean for AI if and when he decides to come back?

I don’t think Iverson is coming back to the Grizzlies, so they signed Tinsley for some veteran help. I won’t say veteran leadership because this guy is NOT a leader. I just hope he isn’t a detriment to the team as he was in Indiana.

It also is being reported that Tinsley chose Memphis over Cleveland. I guess the Cavs have their concerns about Delonte West and Tinsley wasn’t quite ready for primetime.

If Jamaal Tinsley keeps his attitude in check, this move will pan out well for the development of Michael Conley Jr.. A few seasons in row, Tinsley averaged 9 assists a game. Despite his constant involvement with trouble, its pretty impressive, and was a vital part to the Pacers success when he was playing with Reggie Miller.

They should have brought in God Shamgod or Khalid El-Amin instead
