Glen “Baby” Davis: NBA Reserve, NFL Legend

So agile in his ways.
Glen Davis is out for the first 6 weeks of this young basketball season due to thumb surgery after he got in a fight a few weeks back with a former LSU student. Now that Glen Davis has all this time on his hands while he is resting that thumb he is reflecting back to his high school days when he was a defensive tackle, defensive end and a tailback.
Now Davis claims he will give the NFL a shot when he has met all of his basketball goals. What are Davis’ NBA goals you ask? Well he already won an NBA Championship with the Celtics two years ago so that’s out the door. Davis is obviously realistic with his goals because he didn’t say something like, ‘I’ll play football when I win an NBA MVP.’ But Davis simply wants to be an NBA All-Star before he makes a move to the NFL.
“When I become an All-Star in the NBA, when I become a great player in the NBA, then I’ll try football. One of my dreams has always been to play football,” said Davis.
Davis is cashin’ in though; this summer he signed a 2-year $6 million deal with the Celtics so even if he retires prematurely and doesn’t make it in the NFL he can sit on some cash for awhile.
I must say Davis is quite humble about it and said he doesn’t plan on leaving for the NFL at the end of this contract because he knows he won’t be an All-Star by then. Well said Glen, well said.

He should try the UFL.
Honestly, I would say he already met his only goal. He made the NBA considering he really isn’t that good because of dominating a weak college conference.
I once loved Big Baby Davis, now I hate him.
