‘Boo’zer, Williams Jazz up Spurs, Win Big at Home

Jazz 113, Spurs 99
Carlos Boozer…booed?
Boozer, who finished with 27 points and 14 rebounds in the game, dominated on both sides of the floor. It looked like Tim Duncan was outmatched on this evening (and I can’t recall the last time I said that). However, the “fans” at EnergySolutions Arena booed him after missing his first shot. Are you kidding me? Although he was in a slump to begin the year…I still couldn’t believe the treatment he got in the game.
Then, Boozer started doing the things he’s known for – hustle plays, big rebounds, and forcing jump balls. Then, the fans came around. I’ve never seen so many people jump off and back on a bandwagon in such a short amount of time.
Him and Deron Williams lead all scorers with 27 points as the Utah Jazz ended the 1st quarter with a 10 point lead and never looked back
The Spurs, who had a pretty impressive performance by rookie DeJuan Blair (14 pts, 9 rebounds, 7/10 shooting), did not shoot well from the floor. Tony Parker had an outstanding first half, scoring 17 points. However, he was limited in his opportunities after that (4 points in the 2nd half).
Stat of the night – Take the opportunity given to you…Spurs committed 12 turnovers, to the Jazz 11. Why was this important? Utah was able to capitalize on them, scoring 21 points off turnovers to the Spurs 13.
hrbl moment of the night – Charles nearly choking on his own tounge trying to pronounce “athleticism” during the halftime show. TRBL!
