It Must be the Shoes: Part 1 of 3 – Nike
An inside look on what sneakers players are wearing this season
Have you ever watched a game, and wondered what shoes your favorite players wear? Well I’m going to do my best to highlight the notable shoes being worn this year, and who is wearing them. Obviously I’m not going to list the whole league, but if you have a player you are curious about, let me know and I will find out what they’re wearing. Also, keep in mind that players sometimes swap shoes interchangeably throughout the season as newer products come out.
NIKE
Nike Hyperize ($124.99) (featured in pic above)
Players that will wear these: Everyone from Tayshaun Prince to Jeff Green to O.J. Mayo to Erick Dampier. This will easily be the most widely worn shoe in the league. They are light and durable and can be worn by any type of player. It doesn’t hurt that there are also 21 colors of this shoe made.

Nike Blue Chip 2 ($84.99)
Players that will wear these: Nike lets the younger “blue chip” stars wear these including Caron Butler, DaJaun Blair, Jason Thompson, Deron Williams and Ben Wallace (Haha!)

Nike Shox Vision ($109.99)
Players that will wear these: Vince Carter is loyal to the Shox series along with other high flyers such as Andre Iguodala. Some big men will wear these as well such as Brad Miller.

Air Max Lebron VII ($159.99)
Players that will wear these: LeBron will be embarrassing opponents in these all year. Typically, when a player has his own shoe, some of his teammates will wear the shoe as well. So look for Anderson Varajao to dive for loose balls wearing these.

Nike Zoom Soldier 3 ($109.99)
Players that will wear these: This is LeBron’s “team shoe,” so look for some of his teammates to rock these along with other random players such as George Hill on the Spurs. George Hill? Yes, that random.

Nike Zoom Kobe IV ($119.99)
Players that will wear these: These shoes look sweet and are almost a lower version of the Hyperizes. Kobe is obviously the headliner here and just like with the LeBrons, many of his teammates will wear them as well. But with 8 colors this year, it seems that other players will be wearing these shoes, such as typical Shox wearer, Andre Iguodala.

PART 2: Jordan Brand and Adidas - COMING SOON.

Let me ask you G, does LeBron design his own shoe? Or at least have SOME input?
Well for starters, they were designed by Jason Petrie from Nike. He’s a beast. Basically Bron Bron probably tells him certain things he must have with the new shoes each year depending on what he liked from previous editions. Then Petrie brings in samples and sketches for him to approve of. But since I’m a complete sneaker nerd, here:
