Get used to that suit Blake

Just as there was reason for optimism for L.A.’s “other team,” the Clippers are already facing an uphill climb as their first round pick, Blake Griffin, has suffered a stress fracture of his left kneecap.

The injury will keep him out for as much as six weeks (about 20 games). Stress fractures are typically overuse injuries and are healed mainly from rest. Griffin was also dealing with tendonitis of his left knee. Needless to say, this is not good, but I’m sure the Clippers will take a very conservative approach with their prospect to avoid any bigger issues down the road.

Could this force youngster DeAndre Jordan into the spotlight? Only time will tell.

I can’t beleive this happened, and I hate that my father was right. He has a sixth sense, he predicted the same thing to happen to Greg Oden, no joke. His pessimistic attitude to a great player (Griffin, not Oden, I think Oden will be a bust, still) with a solid attitude is just wrong. He doesn’t deserve this. He was going to bring the Clippers some positive notice and solid franchise player to build around, lets hope he is not the next Micheal Olokwandi (sp).

Derek, your Dad definitely sucks. On the other hand I am very disappointed as well. I think Griffin could be the real deal and be one of the best power forwards (in a heavy PF league) within 2-3 years. His athleticism for a big man is beyond anyone I’ve seen in the last few years. He just knows how to get up and go get the ball. That’s a God given talent right there.
